Cleveland Hill impressively shut down Fredonia’s high-scoring offense with a tough defense that includes several impact players; meanwhile Thomas ran for three touchdowns and Aaron Jackson ran things effectively. Golden Eagle players are aiming to take the next step they weren’t able to take last year and become the first Cleve Hill team to make the state semifinals.
What’s next: The winner will return to Sahlen’s next Saturday at noon for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semifinals and a chance to advance to the championship game at noon Dec. 1 at Syracuse’s Carrier Dome.
