Williamsville South Athletic Director Kevin Lester has been named the Section VI Administrator of the Year by the New York State Athletic Administrators Association.
Lester will receive his award on Friday at the Roy O’Neill Conference Awards Banquet at the Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs.
Lester has served as the AD at South for the last 28 years. During that time he has been on several committees and boards, including the ECIC Discipline Committee, WNY Varsity Hockey Federation and Disciplinary Committee as well as several terms on the ECIC Boys Activity Board. Lester has been an educator in Williamsville since 1971.
Throughout his career the St. Bonaventure graduate has coached football, baseball, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. His three sons were all accomplished three-sport athletes at South.
“My tenure at South has not been a job, it’s been a gift,” said Lester. “What is better than being around and administering young athletes? I am honored and humbled by my selection.”
Orchard Park’s Tia Saunders has signed her letter of intent to play soccer at Canisius. She excels at defense, midfield and forward positions. She plans a major in criminal justice.
