1. Kenmore girls hockey. The first winter sport totally in the books has a history-maker on top. Kenmore became the first team in the four-year history of Western New York Girls Hockey Federation to claim both the Section VI and Federation titles in the same year.
2. Canisius boys basketball. No. 1 large school (by a lot) routed top 10 large schools St. Joe’s and Bishop Timon-St. Jude for a school record high of regular season victories. Crusaders (22-2) will host quarterfinal doubleheader Saturday at noon as a major Manhattan Cup favorite.
3. Bishop Timon-St. Jude boys hockey. Winners of 12 in a row. Excellent Niagara Cup final set up for Super Monday at 4 p.m. at First Niagara Center against St. Joe’s, which beat Timon in dramatic fashion a year ago.
4. Cardinal O’Hara girls basketball. Seniors Keyonte Edwards, Kelsey McCarthy and Jontay Walton will tell us what it’s like to be on Western New York’s best team on PrepTalkTV tonight at 7:30. Hawks won high-caliber Lockport Tournament last weekend.
5. Williamsville North and Niagara-Wheatfield boys hockey. Very familiar foes in the Section VI Division I final (this year makes it four times in the last six years) go at it at 8:30 p.m. on Super Monday at the First Niagara Center.
6. Niagara Falls girls. That would be bowling (Section VI champions and three-time Niagara Frontier League champs) and basketball (No. 3 large school in Western New York).
7. Barker boys basketball. Only undefeated basketball team in Western New York (18-0).
8. Sweet Home indoor track. Panthers boys and girls swept the titles at the Section VI team championships last week. They’ll run for individual honors and trips to the states at the Section VI meet Friday at Fredonia State.
9. Canisius boys swimming. Week off for season-long Power 10 residents, who head — with the Section VI champions — to state meet in Webster next weekend.
10. Lockport, Clarence and Dunkirk wrestling. All have three Section VI champions headed to the state meet in Albany next weekend.
